Super Samba Weekend (SSW) 2023 will be organized in Tampere at the cultural center Haihara and sport center Kaukajärvi. This year’s theme is ”Bahia” and we will focus in the roots of Samba through rhythms, dances and songs.
We will experience the musical and cultural journey from Africa to the stages and arenas of the Samba Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro. Along with Carnaval Samba we will learn about the Samba-Reggae, that offers incredible possibilities for the dancers to play and for the drummers to dance. Our guides and instructors are world famous Brazilian samba artists: Pablo Guerreiro & Ale Jansen (dance), Vitor Art (drumming) and Mestre Sirí / Claudio Neves (Samba de Roda). We will have a truly memorable weekend of learning together, in a safe and relaxing environment.
In the evenings we will be entertained by fantastic Brazilian culture, intimate concerts, a movie, jam sessions, a super Brazilian Pedrosa DJ and even a photo exposition. And we will get great energy from delicious Brazilian food. There is a possibility to be accommodated in Haihara with your own mattresses and sleeping gear. There are also inexpensive airbnb-possibilities nearby. The classes, meals and accommodation will be paid separately.
Super Samba Weekend is a very special and unique event providing time and space for learning and sharing. It is equally statisfying for beginners as well as for advanced, even professional samba people. The surroundings of ”Haihara Cultural Center” give a warm and spirited environment for a deep experience, that will be remembered even decades from now. The personal contacts with the master teachers will give us guidance that will take us a long way. Warmly welcome, you will be received with open arms and a big heart!
The event starts on Friday and will go on until Sunday afternoon. Samba-Reggae Workshop will happen already on Friday at 12 hs (midday). A more detailed program will be updated here below and in the social media. Here’s the preliminary program ❤️
(FI) Super Samba Weekend (SSW) 2023 järjestetään marraskuun 10.-12. jälleen Tampereella Haiharan kulttuurikeskuksessa ja Kaukajärven vapaa-aikatalolla. Tänä vuonna SSW:n teema on ”Bahia”(*). Syvennymme sekä soiton ja tanssin että laulujen kautta Samban juuriin.

Opimme rytmien ja tanssien tarinaa ja matkaa Afrikasta Rion sambakarnevaalien näyttämölle. Karnevaalisamban lisäksi tutustumme Samba-Reggaen juurevaan maailmaan, joka tarjoaa mahtavia mahdollisuuksia tanssijoille soittaa ja soittajille tanssia. Oppaana ja kanssaoppijoina meillä on kansainvälisten kollegoiden ohella huippuopettajia Brasiliasta. Tanssin osalta pääopettajia ovat Pablo Guerreiro ja Ale Jansen. Bateriaa vetää Vitor Art ja Samba de Rodaa Mestre Sirí (Claudio Neves). Luvassa on syvällistä ja hauskaa yhdessä oppimista.
Iltoja viihdyttävät hyvän seuran lisäksi elävä musiikki ja jamisessiot. Ja energiaa tuo Samban ohella herkullinen brasilialainen ruoka. Haiharassa on lattiamajoitusmahdollisuus omilla makuupusseilla ja makuualustoilla. Sen lisäksi lähistöltä on saatavilla edullisia airbnb-majoituksia. Ruokailut ja mahdollinen Haiharan majoitus maksetaan erikseen.
Tapahtuma alkaa perjantaina ja jatkuu sunnuntaille iltapäivään saakka. Samba-Reggaen rumpuopetuksen työpaja alkaa perjantaina jo klo 12. Tarkempi aikataulu päivittyy kotisivuille www.supersambaweekend.com ja sosiaaliseen mediaan. Tässä alla on alustavaa tapahtuman aikataulua.
